The most famous landmark in golf - Swilken Bridge, St Andrews Old Course Many congratulations to our golf team who won the inaugural Links Cup in Scotland last weekend against Webster's High School, Kirriemuir, on a score of 4 1/2 points to 1 1/2 points. The competition was a fantastic experience for all involved with our students playing some of the top courses in Scotland. These included St Andrew's Bay, Royal Montrose and Brechin. In addition to the competition, the lads visited Turnberry Golf Club, home of last year's Open Championship and St Andrew's Old Course, the host of this year's Open Championship. Our team was led by Jack Ryan (Captain) and included David Carroll, Owen O'Brien Colin O'Sullivan and trip coordinators, Mr Eoin Shinners and Mr Colm Hanley. Webster's High School will make the return trip next year in a bid to take the trophy home to Scotland. They will play some of Ireland's top courses including Ballybunion, Adare and Lahinch. It is hoped that a number of more schools from County Limerick VEC and Angus Council in Scotland will be invited to enter competition next year. Well done again to the lads. The victory can only boost their confidence ahead of the All-Ireland Finals next April. |

Form III Kristo organised a visit to court house on Friday. The aim of the visit was to learn about law, one of the seven core CSPE concepts. The students witnessed a number of civil cases and experienced the legal system first hand. Thanks to the registrar of the court, Ken Butler who hosted the visit.
