Dr. Fergus Heffernan


Eminent Psychologist Dr. Fergus Heffernan will visit our school on Thursday, December 1, 2016.  Dr. Heffernan holds qualifications as a psychologist,psychotherapist and a family therapist and is well known for his inspirational talks.

Dr. Heffernan will present workshops promoting positive mental health to the student body throughout the day and will meet with college staff and parents later that evening. The theme underpinning the day is Creating Resilience Within the Entire School Community.

All parents are cordially invited to a presentation by Dr. Heffernan entitled Understanding the Emotional Well Being of Teenagers, Children and the Family. This promises to be a thought provoking session which will look at why our teenagers and children do not have appeared to have developed resilience.   Light refreshments will be served.  Free Raffle on the night!

Farewell Dinner- SpringFord High School Wednesday 25th November.


Last night the parents of or America Exchange students prepared a lovely meal for all those participating in the Limerick to Limerick Exchange. Mr.Moore and Ms. Tobin were also presented with a copy of the History of the Limerick Township here in Philadelphia which will be displayed in Colaiste Chiarain, Limerick, Ireland. We would like to thank our friends at Springford for a fantastic stay, although it's not over yet! Roll on New York!!!!!!

European Parliament


24 5th year students representing Ireland at Euroscola in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. These students won this trip through their great work on the Ambassador School Programme last year. Coláiste Chiaráin piloted this programme for the European Parliament last year and are again taking part in the programme this year!

Amish Tour & Shady Maple. - Tuesday November 22nd


Our trip today was on a yellow bus which was very exciting for our Irish students. Our first stop was at Shady Maple, a gigantic breakfast buffet where students fuelled on all sorts of breakfast foods.From here we competed a tour of Amish areas learning about their culture and heritage. It was an interesting day.
