Niamh Briggs, Captain of the Irish Ladies Rugby team along with teammate Fiona Reidy presented Second year Coláiste Chiarán student Eimear Hickey with a signed Irish jersey.
Eimear sent a letter of inspiration to Niamh during her holidays saying how she was her role model and how she admired her. Niamh responded this week by organising a surprise visit.
Thanks to Niamh Briggs and Fiona Reidy who are such super ambassadors for sport. Todays surprise event was a lovely gesture, showed a real generosity of spirit and was a special surprise for Eimear.

Congratulations to Catríona Brady Halmschlag on winning the Graduate competition through her European Studies class. Catríona, along with 23 other Irish students, won an all expenses paid trip which included visits to the European Parliament building in Brussels, a day in Luxemburg and a full day of debating and living the life of an MEP in the Parliament in Strasbourg. Catríona was one of two students chosen to speak on behalf of the Irish contingent and carried the Irish flag into the Parliament. Catríona is pictured here with Irish MEP Mairéad Mc Guinness at the parliament in Brussels.
Catríona will also join her winning European Studies class on another trip to the parliament in Strasbourg on the 25th of November. The entire class have won this trip through their fantastic work on the European Parliament Ambassador Schools Programme which was piloted in Coláiste Chiaráin last year. Well done to all involved.
