Poetry Aloud

Congratulations to the 8 transition year students who took part in the Poetry Aloud competition today in Thurles. They were Ulrich Babela, Shaena Cohen, Michael Garvey, Evan Kelly, Jessica Okonkwo, Sam O Gara, Brendan Power and Molly Ryan.

There were over 50 competitors all of a very high standard. Overall 5 students were selected to proceed to the semi finals in the National Library of Ireland next month.
We are delighted to announce that 2 students from Coláiste Chiaráin were chosen to proceed. Well done to Evan Kelly and Jessica Okonkwo.
It was also noted and fed back to us that our students were very courteous and represented our school very well.

Parents Council

It is that time of year again.  The Parents Council would like to welcome all first years to the school and their parents who are just as much a part of our school community here at Coláiste Chiaráin.

This year is of particular importance given the progress being achieved in delivering a new school for our children.  For this reason, the Parents Council would really like to encourage parents to come along and learn more about the school, the school community and the new school building.  Parental input is an important and valuable part of the success of Coláiste Chiaráin and its Parents Council.

In this regard, please note the Parents Council are holding the annual AGM on Wednesday 25th at 7pm at Coláiste Chiaráin.  Your attendance would be most welcome.  The Parents’ Council is a great source of information about our children’s school so please come along.
