Debs Ball

Coláiste Chiaráin held its annual Debs ball in the Radisson Hotel last Friday 7th October. A fantastic night was had by all!! The ball was successful due to the hard work and dedication of all sixth year pupils, their Dean Mr. Cathal Fitzgerald, Mr. Mike Behan and his Assistant Deans, the debs committee and Headmaster Mr. Noel Malone and Deputy Mr. Gerard O Sullivan. Everybody looked spectacular and the guests were entertained by the popular Limerick band "Same Size Feet."

A big thank you to all who helped organise this memorable night!

Anti-Bullying Awareness Week

Coláiste Chiaráin is in the middle of its annual “Anti-Bullying Awareness Week”. Coláiste Chiaráin takes a positive role in dealing with bullying issues. The school has a Personal Safety Board (P.S.B.) which is made up of 23 teachers who investigate any complaints. This team, which is coordinated by Ms. Mairead Murphy, has been in existence for over 7 years and has proved to be very helpful and successful in rectifying any bullying instances. Coláiste Chiaráin takes the issue of bullying very seriously and to have a team within the school to pay particular attention to this matter is excellent.

The school’s “Anti Bullying Awareness Week” consists of lesson plans dealing with the issue of bullying, video presentations, guest speaker (Humourfit theatre group), art and poetry competitions and a survey to be completed by students.
