Student Council Election Results

Results are in!

Well done to all the candidates who stood for election. It was hotly contested with  five candidates from  form II taking until the fourth count to return a result.

The campaigning is over and the real work starts after the half term when the student council meet the previous student council to hand over the reigns of power.

The candidates have promised much on the campaign trail so its important that they deliver!

A full list of representatives will be published on the student council website, but a summary of the main voting is below:

Día 3-Saturday 29th October

Today the students visited Dublin!! While there they saw St. Stephen's Green, The National Museum of Ireland, Trinity College and The Book of Kells. They then did some sight seeing around Dublin city and a spot of shopping!!  A great day was had by all, despite the typical irish weather!!!

Día 4 & 5- Sunday 30th and Monday 31st October

On Sunday all the students had a fun filled trip. They visited Co. Clare and managed to fit in most of the world famous landmarks!! They saw the Burren, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Ailwee Caves, which included a birds of prey display, Doolin, Lahinch and the beautiful Cliffs of Moher. A fantastic day was had by all!!

On Monday, all the students remained at home to celebrate Halloween!!!

Día 6 & 7- Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd November

Today the students had a tour of Cork!! While there they visited Blarney Castle and Fota Island Wildlife park! The following day the group visted Adare!! They saw the beautiful village, St. Nicholas' Church and Adare Manor! Sadly, today was the last day of the exchange. There were tears as our spanish friends departed but it won't be long until a reunion; Coláiste Chiaráin pupils will be heading to Spain this February!!

The exchange was a great success!!
